Elation is one of a series of paintings exploring the myths that link water with feminine energy. Though these stories often present female personae in relation to men, I focus on the relationship between each woman and the water. I partially obscured their faces to deflect attention from identity, so the subject of the painting becomes the overall experience depicted, rather than the individuals.
